A customer was experiencing cracking in their existing evaporator due to the use of cold rinse water into the heated evaporator unit. This caused metal fatigue and cracks. Working together, Caloris and subsidiary Seitz Stainless formulated a solution to reinforce the existing equipment and fix the cracks. The repair was scheduled for a time when the processing system would already be shut down and was completed within one day.
In addition, Caloris proposed a way to prevent the need for/use of cold water rinses in the future, to avoid further instances of the above situation. Caloris and the customer are in the process of making those modifications at this time.
