Caloris Q&A: Chris Mulberg, Project Manager

Chris Mulberg joined Caloris late last year. Get to know Chris in the interview below:

Caloris: How did you get involved in this field?

Chris: I was working at Lockheed Martin in California as a design engineer for satellite parts, when my wife decided it was time for us to leave California. We ended up in Wilmington, N.C., where I took a job as a system design/project engineer for a company specializing in pneumatic material conveying systems. This is where I gained my knowledge in air flow design. After 6+ years in Wilmington, my wife took a new job in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and I started working for a spray dryer manufacturer as a project engineer/manager.

That’s Chris on the right.

Caloris: What do you enjoy most about working with customers?

Chris: The best part of the job is when everything is complete and running and your customer can’t wait to play with their new toy.

Caloris: What do you like most about living/working in Easton?

Chris: I like the small town atmosphere and not having to get on a freeway to get to work.

Caloris: What are your hobbies? Anything else fun you’d like to share?

Chris: Watching baseball, the Washington Nationals, watching Formula 1 races with my wife. Driving and working on my 1985 Porsche. Fun fact, when my two girls were younger we signed them up for Karate, the studio was having a bring a friend to class day and they made me go with them and convinced me to take classes. After a couple of years they both quit, however, I lasted long enough to earn my 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Karate.

Caloris: What’s your favorite cheese?

Chris: That all depends. some of my favorites are Cheddar on a burger, Havarti or Provolone on a sandwich and Colby-Jack for a grilled cheese. However if you put it in front of me and tell me it’s cheese, I will most likely eat it.

Caloris: What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chris: My wife is from Portland, Oregon, and we have made several trips back to see family. Every time we visit the beach, we include a trip to the Tillamook Creamery visitor center and this is where I find my favorite ice cream — Marionberry Pie.
