Dan O’Shea is a consultant for Caloris in the area of membrane filtration. If you are attending the Wisconsin Cheese Industry Conference this week in Madison, you’ll find Dan at Caloris’ booth (1002).
Caloris: How did you get involved in this field?
Dan: I first started in the dairy industry in 1975 with selling form, fill and seal milk carton machines for Hercules at a manufacturing facility in St. Paul, Minn, a couple years after graduating from the University of Minnesota.
Caloris: What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
Dan: I enjoy helping them improve their operations and/or increase their sales thru development of new products. I also like providing a service and developing long term relationships.
Caloris: What do you like most about living/working in Minnesota?
Dan: I was born in Minnesota. In the central USA you can get anywhere because of the major international airport. And it’s close to the Midwest dairy market. But the winters are not for the weak.
Caloris: What are your hobbies? Anything else fun you’d like to share?
Dan: I like attending sporting events –Vikings, Twins and Gophers. And I enjoy being outside and hiking with my friend Gary Maxson.
Caloris: What’s your favorite cheese?
Caloris: What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Dan: Vanilla – I know boring.
Caloris: Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
Dan: I have a close family with three sons, two living in Minneapolis and one in Florida (of course I really like the son in Florida come December thru April). I like international travel and have been all over the world and really like my visits to China – a fascinating culture and country.
