Caloris Q&A: Meet Lance Hickman, Process Engineer
Q&A

Lance Hickman just joined Caloris as a process engineer. Get to know him here.

Caloris: How did you get involved in engineering?

Lance: I was good at math/math-based brain teasers when I was a kid and enjoyed building with Legos. These combined ended up in me gravitating towards engineering.

Caloris: What do you enjoy most about your work?

Lance: I like learning new processes to understand how things are made. I find all processes intriguing from something as simple as growing a vegetable garden from seed into edible food to more complex industrial processes that make multiple products while meeting individual specifications.

Caloris: You will be based in Delaware. What do you like most about living/working there?

Lance: We are excited to move back to where I grew up to be close to family, friends, and the beach.

Caloris: What are your hobbies? Anything else fun you’d like to share?

Lance: When I’m not playing with my 4 & 1 ½ year old daughters, I like to golf, brew mead, collect old rifles, woodwork, and complete home improvement projects.

Caloris: What’s your favorite cheese?

Lance: Fresh mozzarella.

Caloris: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Lance: Cookies and cream.

Caloris: Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

Lance: I enjoy learning geography and history to the point that I taught myself the names and locations of all the countries of the world.
