Small Changes, Big Impact
A dairy customer in the Northwest U.S. wanted to make impactful changes to their processing line with the least impact on plant uptime possible.
Caloris is implementing changes to:
- improve dryer CIP to 60 or more days between CIPs
- create an operable dual feed system to enable potential continuous 24-hour operation with automatic switch-over
- train employees to effectively make use of the implemented process changes.
With relatively minimal downtime or investment in new equipment, this work will result in substantial gains in terms of productivity and sustainability. The review of the existing processing equipment will help ensure optimal operation for many more years to come.
New Products & Production Goals
Another customer had new products to process and production goals that they wished to achieve with their existing evaporator.
Caloris assisted with transitioning their previously-cold feed stream to warm. Working on this transition provided the opportunity to correct automation inconsistencies and implement other fixes that were necessary for smoother operation. This included reinforcing a set of standard operating procedures to help prevent unnecessary fouling.
In addition to achieving the customer’s goals, we identified multiple additional issues and recommended solutions to further streamline the operation and get the most out of their existing processing equipment.
