Scenes from a Caloris Whey Evaporator Installation and Commissioning

Here are some recent photos from the installation and commissioning of a compact MVR evaporator system with flash cooler for processing whey at a facility in Ohio. The company needed to handle increased whey volumes that resulted from a plant expansion.

Photo 1: The calandria for the evaporator arriving on a flat bed truck.

Photo 2: The installed 6-pass MVR-heated falling film evaporator with inter-pass preheating, capable of 65,000 PPH evaporation for whey. This system utilizes turbofan technology to achieve the majority of desired evaporation with electrical power at the highest possible overall energy efficiency. The evaporator can concentrate shipments of both hot and cold whey.

Photo 3: Shot from the system’s HMI interface. During commissioning, Caloris engineers perform functional testing of the equipment, check out setup and performance of control parameters and train plant personnel. Caloris also conducts performance testing to demonstrate the equipment meets expectations and performance guarantees.
